Itโs a beautiful day here in Arizonaโyes, a little humid, which is rare for us, but at 98 degrees, weโre calling it a cool-down after the scorching 111 we had earlier this week. Funny how perspective shifts when you live in the desert!
Today, Ken and I are off to the Elks Lodge to celebrate Independence Day with some mid-day festivities. The Lodge is doing things earlier this year so members can still enjoy fireworks later in the eveningโor stay home with their fur babies who may not be thrilled about the booms and bangs. Weโre curious (and a little nervous) to see how our little Lucy will react. Itโs her first 4th of July with us. Thankfully, our 55+ community tends to keep things more peaceful, so hopefully, she wonโt be too rattled.
The Lodge is putting on quite a spread with BBQ favorites, music, games, and rafflesโplenty to keep the day lively. Even better, our good friends from down the street will be joining us. That always adds an extra spark to any celebration.
I donโt have too much more to sayโI just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a joyful, safe, and memorable 4th of July. May your day be filled with good food, laughter, and maybe a sparkler or two.
What are your plans for today? Iโd love to hear how youโre spending the holidayโwhether youโre relaxing at home, headed to a parade, or gearing up for a backyard fireworks show.
Stay cool and enjoy the day! ๐บ๐ธโจ
