On our latest Arizona adventure, we found ourselves in the charming town of Williams, a place where the spirit of old Route 66 is alive and well. Tucked between pine-covered hills and historic railroads, Williams has a nostalgic vibe that feels like stepping back in time—but with just the right touch of modern flair.
After a bit of wandering and browsing through some of the quirky shops, we decided to grab lunch at the Route 66 Bar and Grill. The food? It was decent—nothing fancy—but the atmosphere more than made up for it. Every table outside was shaded by bright red umbrellas, live music was playing to keep the mood upbeat, and the centerpiece of the whole place? A classic car perched on the roof. It’s hard not to smile when your lunch spot feels like a roadside attraction in itself.

We both went for hamburgers, served up with crispy onion rings. To wash it all down, I tried a prickly pear beer, which was surprisingly refreshing—a little sweet, a little tart, and totally Arizona.
Williams is the kind of town that invites you to slow down and soak in the details—vintage signs, friendly locals, and that unmistakable Route 66 charm. Even if lunch was just “okay,” the whole experience was worth the stay.
If you’re cruising through Northern Arizona, Williams makes for a perfect pit stop. Come for the history, stay for the vibes.
Tomorrow, The Grand Canyon!
Have you been to a town like Williams?
