Our visit to the Air Force Commemorative Museum at Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by a fascinating collection of war helicopters, airplanes, hummers, jeeps, trucks, and other military paraphernalia that gave us a glimpse into the past.
So Many Stories
Walking through the museum, we explored aircraft up close, imagining the stories behind each one. The exhibits were packed with history, and it was amazing to see these machines that once played a vital role in military operations. But the highlight of the day? Taking a ride on a Huey helicopter.
For $115 (veterans) and $125 (civilians), we had the chance to experience history firsthand, soaring above the Arizona landscape in this legendary aircraft. The views from above were breathtaking, but the real thrill came when the helicopter tilted, and Ken—sitting on the outside seat—felt like he might just fall right out! It was an exhilarating experience, one that had us all grinning from ear to ear.
Unforgettable Day
In the end, it was a day filled with adventure, history, and unforgettable memories. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for an exciting experience, the Air Force Commemorative Museum at Falcon Field is well worth a visit. We walked away with a deeper appreciation for those who served and the machines that carried them into battle.
Would we do it again? Absolutely. Question is – would you?
