Where Did My Videos Go? (And Other Mysteries of Blogging)
I’m sitting here staring at my computer, fingers hovering over the keyboard, waiting for brilliance to strike. You know…that magical moment when words just flow.
Well, today is not that day.
I even went digging through all of Paul’s emails, hoping something would jump out at me and scream, “Write about THIS!” But nope…nothing. Not a spark. Not even a flicker.
So now I’m wondering…is this writer’s block? Could be. It sure feels like it.
But then—aha! A tiny lightbulb flickered on.
Day 15. Paul mentioned using videos in blog posts to attract visitors. Now that sounded promising. Something different. Something engaging. Something that might pull me out of this creative slump.
So, off I went on my little mission.
Let me tell you…that mission did not go as planned.
I thought, “No problem, I’ll just upload a video to my new WordPress blog.” Easy, right? Wrong. I clicked here, I clicked there. I searched menus, settings, and buttons that all started to look the same after a while.
Nothing.
Then I thought, “Alright, I’ll grab the URL from my YouTube channel. That should work.”
Nope. Still nothing.
Now I know I’ve done this before. I’m not imagining things. There was a time—not so long ago—when uploading or embedding a video didn’t feel like solving a mystery novel. But today? It’s like the option packed up its bags and quietly moved out without telling me.
So here I sit…a little frustrated, a little confused, and still without a video in my blog post.
Funny how writing about having nothing to write about somehow turned into…well…something to write about.
And maybe that’s the lesson for today.
Even when you feel stuck, even when the ideas aren’t flowing, even when technology decides to test your patience—there’s still a story in there somewhere.
But I will say this…
If there’s anyone out there who knows where that elusive “upload video” button is hiding in WordPress, I would be forever grateful if you’d point me in the right direction.
Until then, I’ll be right here…still clicking around.
And maybe—just maybe—waiting for my next aha moment.
Seriously…If you know what I’m doing wrong, please help me out.
