Chase Field Arizona Diamondbacks baseball

There’s nothing like going to the ballpark to watch a baseball game and soak up some sun. The crack of the bat, the smell of hot dogs, the hum of the crowd—it’s an experience that just can’t be duplicated anywhere else. Oh, and let’s not forget… the food and beer!

Yesterday was that kind of day.

Now, just a few days earlier, the Arizona Diamondbacks had been swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers —ugh. But this week? A fresh start. A new opponent. (And let me just say—playing the Detroit Tigers.

Ken and I went to game three of the series, and the stakes were simple: the D’Backs had already won the first two games, so this one would complete the sweep. You could feel that energy in the air—everyone hoping to witness that final win.

And guess what?

They did it!

A tight, nail-biting game that ended 1–0 in favor of the Diamondbacks. Not a high-scoring blowout, but honestly, those are sometimes the most exciting games to watch. Every pitch matters. Every swing counts.

Pitching for the D’Backs was Zac Gallan – their golden boy—and he absolutely delivered. Calm, focused, and in control. And that one precious run? Courtesy of Corbin Carroll – another rising star who continues to impress.

Now let’s talk about that Arizona sun…

The roof was closed at the time I took the picture. Below the post I’ve added a few more photos.

Even though Chase Field has a roof that can open and close, someone decided to leave it open. So there we were—sitting in the blazing sunshine all afternoon. Let’s just say… I got my vitamin D for the week! ☀️

The game itself was quick, which I didn’t mind one bit given the heat. Sometimes a fast game is a blessing, especially when you’re slowly melting into your seat.

After the final out, Ken and I kept the celebration going and headed over to Nando’s Mexican Cafe. We grabbed seats at the bar, ordered a couple of drinks, and just relaxed. The food? Delicious. The drinks? Even better.

I’ll admit… I got a little tipsy—but hey, it was a winning day! 🍹

From baseball victories to good food and great company, it was one of those simple, perfect days that just makes you smile.
