It’s not even 10:00am and I’m exhausted! You’d think I ran a marathon, but no—this was just a typical “let’s start the day” kind of morning… if your idea of typical includes pee, carpet shampoo, and a breakfast date on a tight timeline.
I woke up bright and early at 6:00am. Lucy, our sweet little pup, was right there at the door to greet me. But before I could give her all the love and cuddles she deserves, I had a mission: clean the carpet in my art studio. Why? Because it smelled like pee. That unmistakable, undeniable smell that makes you drop everything and reach for the carpet cleaner.
Now, my art studio isn’t huge—just a small room that doubles as an office and guest space with a queen-sized bed. Not too much square footage to tackle, but just enough to be a headache. First task: put the darn carpet cleaner together. Easier said than done. Of course, there was a mishap. I forgot to attach some little do-hickey, and the water I poured in promptly spilled all over the counter and floor. Surprise flood! I mopped it up as fast as I could—Ken was out golfing with friends, and we had breakfast plans when he finished.
Once I got the machine working (hallelujah), I went to town on the smelly spots. I might’ve used a bit too much water, but hey—when you’re battling pee, it’s all hands (and soap) on deck. I managed to get most of the odor out, but I’ll need to go another round once I pick up more shampoo.
After that, I was hot, sweaty, and smelled as bad as the carpet used to. A nice, hot shower worked its magic, and soon I was dressed, makeup on, hair styled—just in time for Ken’s call. Golf was over. He was on his way to scoop me up for breakfast.
We met up with the gang, enjoyed a delicious meal, and by 9:30am we were back home. You’d think I could finally relax—but nope, the carpet cleaner had to be emptied, cleaned, and packed away.
At last, I flopped on the couch, exhausted, and began this blog post.
Yes, I’m beat.
And it’s not even 10:00am.
What was your morning like?
