It’s a beautiful day here in Arizonaβ€”yes, a little humid, which is rare for us, but at 98 degrees, we’re calling it a cool-down after the scorching 111 we had earlier this week. Funny how perspective shifts when you live in the desert!

Today, Ken and I are off to the Elks Lodge to celebrate Independence Day with some mid-day festivities. The Lodge is doing things earlier this year so members can still enjoy fireworks later in the eveningβ€”or stay home with their fur babies who may not be thrilled about the booms and bangs. We’re curious (and a little nervous) to see how our little Lucy will react. It’s her first 4th of July with us. Thankfully, our 55+ community tends to keep things more peaceful, so hopefully, she won’t be too rattled.

The Lodge is putting on quite a spread with BBQ favorites, music, games, and rafflesβ€”plenty to keep the day lively. Even better, our good friends from down the street will be joining us. That always adds an extra spark to any celebration.

I don’t have too much more to sayβ€”I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a joyful, safe, and memorable 4th of July. May your day be filled with good food, laughter, and maybe a sparkler or two.

What are your plans for today? I’d love to hear how you’re spending the holidayβ€”whether you’re relaxing at home, headed to a parade, or gearing up for a backyard fireworks show.

Stay cool and enjoy the day! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβœ¨

    Hope Lucy does well!

Wee took a little drive in the mountains today. Later we are going to fire up the grill then bring a few drinks up to the balcony off our bedroom and watch the fireworks the town next door puts on.

I donated platelets today, the 4th, and I feel like I did my good deed for the day. After that I spent time time with neighbors enjoying the day.

    Did you enjoy your day?

    Paul.

I got together with friends and had hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and apple pie. I hope Lucy did okay with the fireworks.

That little puppy paid no mind to the fireworks. Brave little thing.
