We’ve got a whirlwind of a week ahead, and I couldn’t be more excited. Karen and Travis are coming out from Colorado—yes, the Colorado crew is making their way to the desert! They’ll be here Wednesday just in time for Woods’ high school graduation on Thursday. Can you believe it? Woods is graduating! That kiddo is all grown up and ready to take on the world. He’s decided to start at community college, which is a smart move if you ask me. His plan? He wants to go into nutrition. I think that’s a wonderful path—he’s always had a thoughtful way about him, and I can see him doing great things helping others live healthier lives.
Now, instead of a big traditional graduation party, the family decided to keep things relaxed and fun. So Friday, we’re all meeting up at OHSO Brewery in Old Town Gilbert. If you’ve never been—put it on your list! The vibe is fantastic, the food is delicious (a little off the beaten path, but in the best way), and the beer? Oh my. They brew their own, and it’s top-notch. I already have my eye on their prickly pear ale, and you know Ken will try something hoppy and bold. It’ll be such a nice way to celebrate Woods’ milestone with family, laughter, and maybe a beer flight or two.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Tonight, Ken and I are heading to the Elks Lodge. It’s a special night—Ken’s initiation! He’ll officially be a member after all this time. It’s been a long road of paperwork, waiting, and events, but he made it. For those who don’t know, the Elks’ formal name is the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, or BPOE. But if you ask the regulars, it stands for Best People on Earth—and after all the warm welcomes and good times we’ve had there, I’d have to agree.
So yes, the calendar is full, the guests are coming, the beer is brewing, and life is rolling along in a beautiful, busy blur.
Now I’ll toss the question your way—what’s been keeping you busy these days?
Eydie
